Refugees - Icons

☆☆☆☆☆ [0]
  1. REFUGEES: icons - Six pen and ink drawings on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. They are letter icons used in the book, "Refugees From An Imaginary Country," by Darrell Schweitzer, published by Ganley-Owlswick in 1999.

Icons are small drawngs, I usually drew four of them on an 11 x 14 size drawing paper, they were abou 2.5 wide x 5 inches high. My full page drawings usually occupied a 9 x 12 inch space on the 11 x 14 size paper.

For book and magazine illustrations I typically earned $100 for a full page drawing, and $25 for an icon. For my TSR illustrations the rates were double that amount.

It often happened that I spent just as much time on an icon that I did on a full page drawing, but I never allowed the amount that I got paid for a drawing determine the time and effort I spent working on it.
